Sally's Apizza To Open Fairfield Location In October

FAIRFIELD, CT — Sally's Apizza is scheduled to open its long-awaited Fairfield location in October at 665 Commerce Drive, according to a post on the popular New Haven-based chain's website.

The restaurant confirmed last year that it was coming to Fairfield, and initially the thought was that it would open this summer.

While the opening has been delayed, the planned location has not changed; it will be in the Trademark building on Commerce Drive, in the space formerly occupied by Barbacoa Smoke House. The exact opening date has not yet been announced.

Mark Barnhart, Fairfield's director of Community and Economic Development, said residents cannot seem to wait for its debut. Sally's will be down the street from Frank Pepe's, which is also on Commerce Drive.

"We are excited to have Sally's Apizza join an already vibrant restaurant scene, and if you love pizza, Fairfield is the place to be!" Barnhart wrote in an email to Patch. "I know many of their fans have been patiently awaiting the opening of this location, and it looks like they now won't have much longer to wait. If the number of phone calls that my office has fielded inquiring as to their opening date is any indication, I know that they will do great things here!"

Fairfield will be Sally's third location, joining New Haven and Stamford. However, over the next year, the chain is planning four additional spots, in Newington, Norwalk, Wethersfield and Woburn, Massachusetts.

The Norwalk location had been proposed for The SoNo Collection mall, but whether that remains the planned site has not been announced.
