Statement from the Fairfield RTC Regarding RTM Representative Longo's Comments

Fairfield, CT - September 11, 2025 - The Fairfield Republican Town Committee (RTC) unequivocally condemns the remarks recently made by RTM Representative Melissa Longo on social media. Her choice of language was offensive, inflammatory, and does not reflect the values, priorities, or tone of the Fairfield RTC.

At a time when communities across America are calling for peace, civility, and respect in public discourse, we reject rhetoric that demeans or vilifies others. Our mission as a town committee is to promote solutions, encourage thoughtful debate, and serve Fairfield families with integrity.

Representative Longo’s comments were made in her personal capacity and in no way represent the Fairfield RTC or our endorsed candidates. We remain committed to leading with respect, working across political differences, and ensuring Fairfield’s government reflects the best of our community.
