Student Sues Fairfield Teacher Over Injuries Suffered In Class
The lawsuit claims the student suffered several injuries after being struck in the head by a book that was thrown by the teacher in class.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A family is seeking $15,000 or more in a lawsuit against a Fairfield Ludlowe High School teacher and the town, claiming that a student suffered several injuries after being struck in the head by a book thrown by the teacher in class, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports the lawsuit was filed by Sinead Klik, who was 17 at the time of the incident in 2016, and her mother Sara Darcy Klik. The lawsuit claims Ludlowe teacher Mary LaPierre-Grasso threw a Spanish book that hit Sinead in the head resulting in several injuries, including head and brain injury, concussions, neck pain and migraine headaches, according to the Post.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Toni Jones told the Post the incident was accidental and the book was tossed while the class was handing out textbooks and it unfortunately hit the student. She also said the district is working with the family.
