Trump Rally Tally: Campaign Pays Fairfield Police Up Front for Rally Work
Read details on the final cost for coverage and incidents reported at Donald Trump's campaign rally at Sacred Heart University.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Donald Trump’s campaign paid $23,000 up front to the Fairfield Police Department to cover expenses for the Republican presidential candidate’s rally at Sacred Heart University on Saturday, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
The Citizen reports that during the two days the town had to prepare for the event, Sacred Heart University indicated that it was merely renting its facility to the Trump campaign and wouldn’t be covering any police overtime.

The final costs are still being calculated, but officials told the Citizen that the $23,000 prepayment is going to be “real close” to the final amount.
The Trump campaign ejected four protesters from the rally and there was one physical altercation, but no arrests were made during the event, according to the Citizen.
