Woman Slaps Grocery Store Security Guard Who Tried To Stop Her From Stealing: Fairfield PD

A 76-year-old woman is charged with third-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny after the incident, Fairfield police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A woman is charged after she slapped a security guard at a Fairfield grocery store, according to police.

Maria C. Henne, 76, is charged with third-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny, police said.

Henne hit the loss prevention employee when they tried to stop her from shoplifting about 3:15 p.m. Saturday at Stop & Shop, 760 Villa Ave., according to police. An officer found Henne on Arising Street, and she was arrested and released on a $5,000 bond, police said.
