Suspect Used Heroin Before Fatal CTDOT Crash In Fairfield : CT State Police (patch.com) — Fairfield drivers are being reminded to slow down and move over after a Connecticut DOT worker, Elvin Hernandez of Bridgeport, was struck and killed Friday while clearing debris along I-95 south near Exit 20. State police say Derby resident Edward Myers admitted using heroin before veering onto the shoulder and hitting Hernandez, and he now faces multiple charges including second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle.

Serious injuries reported after multi-vehicle crash shuts down I-95 in Fairfield (news12.com) — Interstate 95 southbound in Fairfield is shut down at Exit 21 after a serious multi-vehicle crash late Friday morning, and drivers are being diverted off the highway. State police, EMS, and local firefighters are on scene, with investigators warning motorists to seek alternate routes and use caution while they work to determine what happened.

Police: 15-year-old arrested in connection with Darien home invasion (news12.com) — Police say a car stolen from Fairfield was used in a March home invasion in Darien, where three masked suspects entered a house and one was reportedly armed. A 15-year-old has now been arrested at the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center on home invasion charges after an extensive investigation involving video, ALPR data, and search warrants.
