Why are you running?  I was raised to believe that we all need to give back to our community.  It is through years of men and women giving generously of their time that Farmington is the top quality town it is today.  I believe a background such as mine, in business, finance, and government is needed on the Town Council to continue the excellence we have seen in our schools, services, and management.

If elected, what area would you focus on?  Finance.  The questions that come up most when I speak to Farmington residents are regarding the budget.

What issues or opportunities is the town facing today?  Traffic, economic growth, and educational excellence, among others.

How would you address them?  The traffic issue is an ongoing one.  The Unionville Traffic Committee has come up with a number of ideas geared towards alleviating problems in the 2nd district.  It might be time for a similar group to address the issue in the 1st district.  With the additions coming to the UCONN complex, we have a great opportunity to grow our business community substantially.  Farmington doubles the state average in business start-ups, so we are clearly a business friendly community.  It is rare to hear anything but accolades regarding the quality of education our school system provides.  The recent contract between the board of education and the teachers union shows how dedicated both groups are to the future of our young residents.
