Beloved Farmington Cop Retires After 24 Years: FPD

The veteran law enforcer had many roles within the Farmington Police Department over the years.

FARMINGTON, CT — A veteran policeman has called it a career in Farmington, and the Farmington Police Department recently paid homage to him.

Farmington Police Lt. Steve Egan officially retired last week after 24 years "of selfless service to our community," the FPD wrote.

Egan's role in the department has varied over the years, ranging from court liaison, training sergeant and detective sergeant, according to police.

"His loyalty and dedication have been unwavering over these past 24 years, making him an invaluable member of our team," wrote the FPD in a statement on social media.

"As he transitions into retirement and embarks on a new career path, we extend our best wishes."
