FARMINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.
Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT
- Andrea Slater of Farmington recently completed an internship at the Connecticut Trolley Museum. Slater's major is History and Sociology. Her internship entailed doing an inventory and creating a cataloging system for the museum's extensive book collection. She also also helped at various museum events and worked with docents to assist and educate visitors. Slater also previously completed an internship at the Stanley-Whitman House in Farmington. She believes that working at both museums helped her learn different, yet equally important, skills. Slater plans to pursue a master's degree in library information science in order to be able to procure a position at a museum or library.
Union College, Schenectady NY

- Aidan Quigley, of Farmington, is traveling during winter break on a Union College mini term. Quigley, a member of the Class of 2020 majoring in Liberal Arts, is completing the India mini term, studying Indian politics, heritage, history and culture. Every year, the college offers a variety of mini-terms, three-week programs running during winter break since the school is on the trimester system.
