Farmington Event Gives High Tech Health Startups A Boost

FARMINGTON, CT – The Bridge Healing Arts Center, a wellness and community center located in Farmington, and Arieli Capital, a U.S.-based holdings and investment company focused on innovation and technology, held its inaugural Well4Tech Bootcamp at the center.

Six international and U.S.-based market-ready startups, including Elvy, JetSweat, Jama, Logos, MeNow and MetaBites, participated in the recent weeklong program, according to a June 27 announcement.

Throughout the week, the entrepreneurs met with investors and industry leaders to help them advance their proof of concepts and market expansion.

“We have been committed to growth in the Greater Hartford area for many years, and this new venture has planted the seeds for a vibrant wellness technology hub right here in Farmington, Connecticut. Our event brought together investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders from around the world, priming the economic development engine for this region,” said Yisroel Rabinowitz, founder of the Bridge Healing Arts Center.

MetaBites, an AI-based nutrition coaching platform for health systems, was selected as the overall winner during the Bootcamp’s Demo Day, and received a year lease for office space in Hartford, the opportunity to pitch the business to ShareNett, $250,000 in funding, and business development services and $40,000 of Oracle cloud credit.

Other award recipients included Jama, an AI-based app that connects and shares parenting tips and information with like-minded parents, and JetSweat, a back-end software platform to help boutique fitness studios create and upload content quickly.

These businesses received $250,000 in funding and business development services and $40,000 of Oracle cloud credit.

“When I purchased this complex, I wanted to create an oasis of conventional and unconventional health and wellness practitioners. We’ve slowly found the right practitioners for this community, but felt like we could expand our vision to do more since we’re located near so many health insurance agencies,” said Rabinowitz.

“Becoming a beacon and resource for health and wellness startups seemed like the next step for this community and we look forward to welcoming new entrepreneurs to the program in the fall.”
