Farmington PD Probes Rash Of Business Break-Ins

The incidents happened at the end of December and in early January, with cash and merchandise stolen.

FARMINGTON, CT — Local police said this week they are probing a disturbing series of business break-ins that have plagued the town in recent weeks.

According to Farmington Police Department spokesman Lt. Matthew Corcoran, the businesses were located near the UConn Health Center in town.

Specifically targeted, Corcoran said, were:

• Farmington Village Mobil, 244 Farmington Ave., Dec. 27, 2023 at 3:35 a.m.

• Quick Stop Gulf, 46 Farmington Ave., Jan. 3, at 3:53 a.m.

• Wine Cellars, 68 Farmington Ave., Jan. 3, at 3:58 a.m.

"All three incidents appear similar in nature based on the times, locations, and methods of the crime," Corcoran said in a statement.

He said each incident involved multiple suspects forcing entry through the front door and targeting cash from the registers and merchandise, namely cigarette products and alcohol.

The Farmington Detective Unit is actively investigating these cases and following up on leads, Corcoran said.
