FARMINGTON, CT — A vacant gas station/garage could be resurrected as a large gas station/convenience store/coffee seller depending on how the Farmington Planning and Zoning Commission votes Monday, Jan. 9.

The Farmington Plan and Zoning Commission meets virtually Monday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m.

It will accessible to the public via zoom and the town has already posted links to the meeting on its website.

One issue on the docket is a zone change, special permit and site plan application from a developer looking to build a gas station/convenience store/bank branch and office building at 342 Colt Highway (Route 6).

PZC members last month did indicate one of the tenants would be a coffee seller, but did not identify a specific franchise.

According to the town, the proposal would also include a drive-through window as part of the project.

The proposed zone change is a revision proposal within the town's business zoning classifications.

The PZC last month unanimously accepted the application by developer CPD Parent Properties LLC and scheduled the public hearing for Monday.

After the hearing is closed, the PZC can vote on all of the applications regarding the proposal.

If approved and built, the development would take another vacant property and transform it into something that will go on the town's tax rolls.

The site was formerly a gas station and garage, but it appears to have been vacant for years, with just a three-bay garage building and empty gas pump islands visible at the site today.
