Farmington Receives $350k STEAP Grant

The grant will help improve access of Farmington Ave. through the Bioscience Corridor and historic Farmington Village.

Farmington will receive a $350,000 state grant to improve access of Farmington Avenue through the Bioscience Corridor and historic Farmington Village.

The grant was announced by Gov. Dannel Malloy Wednesday. Its the second installment of several rounds of grants through the Small Economic Assistance Program.

The project will improve signage, streetscapes and bus shelters. Additional bus shelters will also be added.

“Delivering these grants today will improve the outlook for small towns across the state tomorrow. We are partnering with our smaller communities so that we can rebuild infrastructure, improve quality of life for residents across our state, and put Connecticut on a brighter path,” Malloy said. “These grants will help towns grow, remain competitive, and have a lasting impact for years to come.”
