Farmington Runner Selected to Aiello Inspiration Team at Eversource Hartford Marathon

The Hartford Marathon Foundation has named Farmington, CT runner Mark Deluse to the 2016 Aiello Inspiration Team at the Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon.

Mark’s story is one of tenacity and persistence. He has overcome tremendous obstacles since suffering a debilitating stroke in 2012. Told by doctors he may never walk or speak clearly again, Mark did not let the prognosis detour him as he entered the Hospital for Special Care Rehabilitation Unit.

Mark spent a grueling year of intensive rehabilitation but drew upon his inner strength, faith and indomitable spirit. No surprise to him, Mark finished rehab as determined as ever with his speech unimpaired. Today, he continues to fulfill his promise to aid and encourage other patients, runners and volunteers with compassion, humor and dedication. Mark will be running with Team Special Care in the 5K of the Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon on Saturday, October 8th in downtown Hartford.

As a member of the Aiello Inspiration Team, Mark will receive custom event apparel and perks at the Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon. All team members will also be profiled in the Eversource Hartford Marathon Insider’s Guide.
