Office Worker At Union Elementary Is Farmington's Top School Staffer
Union Elementary School office clerk Kathleen Banta has been named the 2022-23 Farmington Schools Staff Member of the Year.

FARMINGTON, CT — School officials recently honored a longtime employee who has been with the district for two decades.
Union Elementary School office clerk Kathleen Banta has been named the 2022-23 Farmington Schools Staff Member of the Year.
Banta was honored at the Farmington Board of Education's last meeting Sept. 19.

School officials said Banta was recommended by the entire faculty of Union Elementary School due to her "unwavering dedication and commitment to the entire school community."
“Kathy, along with her colleagues, create a warm and nurturing environment at Union Elementary School for all members of the school community. She is someone who is extremely diligent and hardworking," said Farmington Superintendent of Schools Kathleen C. Greider.
School board chairpers Liz Fitzsimmons agreed.

“Mrs. Banta creates a welcoming front office at Union Elementary School. Her care for others and her strong work ethic contributes to Union School’s overall climate and culture," she said.
Union Elementary School’s Principal, Caitlin Eckler said “Kathy is the voice and face of Union School. She is extremely hardworking and puts her best into everything she does."
Banta said she was "overwhelmed" at the honor.
“I am overwhelmed with the amount of love and appreciation I feel right now. I love my job and I guess it shows," Banta said.
Banta has lived in Unionville since 1985 and began her career at Union School in 2002.
