Farmington Tower Rejected
The Siting Council rejected Tower Holding, LLC's proposal to build a 180 foot tower in town.
On Thursday, the Connecticut Siting Council rejected a proposal to build tower in Farmington, reports the Hartford Courant.
The vote was 6-1.
The town and residents had been fighting Tower Holdings, LLC’s proposal for a 180-foot lattice tower that would be built on its property at 199 Brickyard Road.

On May 28, the Siting Council held a preliminary vote and rejected the proposal then as well.
Area residents were opposed to the building of a lattice tower in an area of homes, schools, and recreational facilities for the enjoyment of all the town’s residents.

Many residents living within the area stated in public hearings that there was no need for a telecommunications tower in the area.
Both residents and town officials spoke out against the tower at the hearings and some even staged a protest before the May 28 Siting Council meeting.
