FARMINGTON, CT — The latest installment of the weekly Hidden Gems series takes us to a 300-year-old national landmark in the historic village of Farmington. The Stanley-Whitman House, built ca. 1720, is a living history center and museum that teaches through the collection, preservation, research, and dynamic interpretation of the history and culture of early Farmington.

The centerpiece of the museum facility is a National Historical Landmark house, furnished with period antiques to reflect the everyday activities of Colonial life in Connecticut. Surrounding the house are period raised bed gardens, an apple orchard, and heritage stone walls.

Much more information about the museum, including upcoming programs, may be found at www.stanleywhitman.org.
