Hiker Rescued From Trail In Farmington

A hiker was rescued from a trail in Farmington over the weekend, authorities said.

FARMINGTON, CT — A hiker who suffered a medical emergency was rescued off a trail near Route 6 in Farmington Saturday evening, police said.

The hiker is 53 and became lost after the medical incident, police said.

The hiker was safely removed from the trails and was transported to an area hospital, police said. He was conscious and alert and his injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening, police said.

Plainville and Simsbury authorities brought in an all-terrain vehicle and rope rescue team, respectively, because of the terrain, local police said.
