JAX $10k College Scholarship Deadline is Feb 1

New Scholarship helps underserved students pursue college degrees in biomedicine

The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) is launching a new scholarship program to help underserved students pursue a college degree in studies related to biomedicine. The JAX College Scholarship program will award a $10,000 scholarship to one graduating high school senior from Connecticut (and one in Maine and in Sacramento County, California). The deadline to apply is February 1, 2018 and the scholarship will be awarded in late April 2018.

Applicant criteria:
- Applicants must be nominated by a teacher or guidance counselor from their high school.
- Applicants must demonstrate either significant financial need or status as a first-generation college student.
- Applicants must be on track to complete their high school diploma with a cumulative GPA greater or equivalent to 3.5 on a standard 4.0 scale.
