While Drum suffered reported minor injuries in the crash, the boy was unharmed, police said.

According to police, Drum was traveling in the center lane of I-84 West in the center lane just past Exit 37.

That's when, police said, Drum lost control of the vehicle for "an unknown reason" and veered into the median and into I-84 East in the wrong direction.

Drum's Suburu crashed into a 2022 Kia Forte being driven by a 27-year-old East Hartford woman, who suffered minor injuries, and then into a 2016 Suburu Forester being driven by a 50-year-old Canton woman who had minor injuries.

After striking those two vehicles, Drum's vehicle then slammed into a 2022 Dodge Ram pickup truck being driven by a 62-year-old Savanaha, Ga., man, who was uninjured.

All of the injured as well as the child were transported to area hospitals for evaluation.
