Colby College, Waterville ME
- Heather Jahrling of Farmington, a first-year student at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, recently returned from spending the fall semester in Dijon, France, through a special program that offers first-year students the opportunity to study abroad. Jahrling, a graduate of Farmington Senior High School, is the daughter of Timothy and Maureen Jahrling of Farmington. Colby's Global Entry Semester program in Salamanca, Spain, and Dijon, France, provide academically rigorous experiences that fulfill Colby's foreign language requirement. Through university classes and social interaction, including a homestay with a local family, students gain a global perspective and a better understanding of the complexities of another culture.

- Eastern Connecticut State University recently released the names of seven full-time students from Farmington who were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester. They are, with majors: Olivia Bednarek, Elementary Education and Visual Arts; James Heath-Ringrose, Business Administration; Ian Joerres, Visual Arts; Andrea Slater, History and Sociology; Michael Tuttle, Pre-Social Work and Psychology; Christina Welch, Biology; and Courtney Welch, Health Sciences.
University of Delaware, Newark DE
- Kaylee Drab of Farmington and Evelyn Pantelopoulos of Unionville have been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.
University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

- The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that 5,500 undergraduates have qualified for the fall 2017 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, and many other states and nations. To be included on the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average. The list includes students who have not yet declared their majors as well as those from all of the University's undergraduate academic colleges. Honorees from Farmington are Adele Damiani, Dalia Fredette, Erin Heston, Kamil Kolacz, Taylor Lipinski, Samuel Lohner, Allison Solliday and Kathryn Wilson.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA
- Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that Jason Ashton of Unionville, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in computer science, was named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the fall 2017 semester. A total of 1,608 undergraduate students achieved the criteria required for WPI's fall 2017 Dean's List. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
