New Info From the Town of Farmington
Connecticut Water setting up potable water sites.

The Town of Farmington continues to remove trees from roadways in order to facilitate CLP’s on going restoration efforts.
According to CLP it is expected that some power will begin to be restored through out the day. However, the majority of residents should expect power to be out for several more days. The Town of Farmington continues to request and emphasize the need for additional CLP resources.
The Town’s Compost station located at Tunxis Mead Park off of Red Oak Hill Road will be open extended hours from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The Town’s emergency shelter located at Farmington High School will remain open. Residents are encouraged to bring their own bedding, medications, toiletries, and personal items.
With power being restored to the Canton substation power has been restored to gas stations along the Route 44 corridor in the vicinity of Route 167. There are also several gas stations on Route 6 in Bristol and Oakwood Avenue in West Hartford.

Village Gate of Farmington on 88 Scott Swamp Road has offered to provide free hot meals for senior citizens of Farmington. Please call Village Gate 860-676-8626 for reservations.
Potable Water
Residents may obtain potable water at all three fire stations between 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Residents must provide their own containers. Fire Station locations are as follows:
- Farmington Fire Station 76 Main Street
- East Farmington Fire 94 South Road
- Tunxis Hose 11 School Street, Unionville
Connecticut Water is establishing potable water sites at the following schools 24 hours a day. Residents must provide their own containers.
- West District School 114 West District Road
- Noah Wallace School 2 School Street Farmington
- Farmington High School – Student Parking Lot - 10 Monteith Drive
Safety Issues
- Treat all down wires as being live and keep a safe distance
- Never leave candles or open flames unattended
- Generators should be kept outside and properly ventilated
- Use caution with space heaters – keep away from combustibles
- Open damper when using fire place and burn only appropriate materials
- Carbon Monoxide can be deadly. Do not use appliances inside a building that are designed for outdoor use. This includes generators, portable heating devices or any equipment that use gasoline, propane.
