New York Man Charged With Passing Counterfeit Bills in Farmington
He is accused of passing the fake bills at a pair of Farmington stores in February.

FARMINGTON, CT — A New York man was extradited to Farmington Monday to face charges of passing counterfeit bills at a pair of retail stores in February.
Carnell Lucas, 24, was charged with two counts of first-degree forgery, two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree forgery, third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny, fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny.
He was held on $75,000 bond.

Lt. Colin Ryan said Lucas is accused of passing counterfeit bills at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack in Feb. 2016.
He was developed as a suspect after being arrested in Warwick, RI on similar charges, Ryan said.

Farmington police obtained arrest warrants for Lucas and notified New York authorities, who located and arrested him. At a hearing in New York, he waived extradition, allowing Farmington detectives to pick him up and transport him back to Connecticut, Ryan said.
Lucas is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court Oct. 5.
