Farmington Historical Society Offers Amistad Walking Tours (patch.com subscription) — Farmington residents can join guided Amistad walking tours this fall exploring the town's pivotal role in sheltering freed Mende captives after their Supreme Court victory. The coats, made by The Empowerment Plan, double as sleeping bags and come with a two-year employment and support program, with a Canton restaurant fundraiser set for Oct. 6.
