Proposed Farmington Apartment Complex Raises Concerns
Residents have traffic and safety concerns when it comes to the proposed $60 million project.
Residents have traffic and safety concerns when it comes to a proposed $60 million apartment complex project, reports the Hartford Courant.
A concern is that the project will isolate the school and cause traffic problems. CenterPlan Development Co.’s CEO Bob Landino said that the company is working on a traffic study in the area.
CenterPlan has proposed a 295-unit complex at the Charles House factory, which is next to Union School and borders the Farmington River.

The apartment complex would include four apartment/townhouse buildings with 400 parking spaces behind the buildings. It would include a fitness center, a pool and walking paths, and a waterfront pavilion with kayak and canoe storage.
The planning and zoning commission is expected to discuss the proposal once CenterPlan files a formal application.
