Rep. Wadsworth Honors Vietnam War Veterans at State Capitol

3rd annual ceremony honors the sacrifices of all U.S. military veterans

State Rep. Bill Wadsworth on recently attended the 3rd Annual Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Ceremony at the State Capitol to honor the veterans of the Vietnam War and all others who have served in defense of our country.

March 30th of every year marks the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day, a commemorative day to honor veterans who served in the Vietnam War.

Wadsworth, who served in the United State Army, voiced the importance of this event for our Vietnam veterans and for those who are currently serving our country overseas.

“Today’s ceremony was a great way to honor the heroes who courageously served our country during a pivotal time in our nation,” said Wadsworth. “We must never overlook the sacrifices made by those who served in Vietnam – along with those who are currently serving our country now. It was an absolute honor for me to meet some of the heroic men and women who fought so bravely for our nation’s freedom.”

Friday’s ceremony at the Capitol featured a presentation of the colors, singing of the national anthem, and remarks from multiple state and federal elected officials as well as State Constitutional Officers.

Remarks were also made by Patricia Dumin, President of the CT Vietnam Veterans of America, and by Elliott Storm, a disabled Marine Vietnam combat veteran, and author of These Scars Are Sacred.
