Silver Alert Canceled for Elderly Man From Farmington: UPDATED
The man had been reported missing to the Farmington Police Department Monday afternoon.
FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington police canceled a Silver Alert for Robert Ayer, 86, shortly after 8:30 p.m. Monday. "The missing person has been located and is safe," Lt. Sean Bailey said.

FARMINGTON, CT — Police are seeking the public's help in locating an elderly Farmington man who was reported missing Monday morning.

Robert Ayer, 86, is described as a white male, standing 5-feet-9, weighing 190 pounds, with gray receding hair. He was last seen by his wife around 10:30 Monday morning in West Hartford, wearing a navy blue jacket, navy blue pants, light blue shirt, possibly a tan baseball hat and eyeglasses.
Ayer was driving a red 2006 Ford Escape SUV, bearing CT Save the Sound plate 4483.

He has dementia and takes medications for it. He has traveled to Torrington in the past, and also has gotten lost in central Massachusetts as a result of his medical condition.
