Recap: It was a tough first match back after vacation, but the Porter's squad was grateful for the opportunity to compete against strong opponents. Each Taft player gave the Porter's athletes a great challenge to rise to.

#1 Talia Welker '19 began her match with an impressive effort, which she sustained through all three games. She increasingly found her rhythm as the match progressed. Despite strong lunges, consistent flow, and smart placement in attempt to move her opponent around, Taft's Patel outmaneuvered her.
#8 Sarah Wagner '20 earned the only win of the day in exhibition. After losing the first game, Sarah got her nerves out and played steady, smart, strategic squash. She took the next three games to win her match.

Varsity Basketball vs. Westminster: W 52-19
Recap: Porter’s came out strong in their first home game of the season beating Westminster 52-19. Ana Bartkiewicz ’20 led the team with 16 points (9 rebounds, 5 assist, 5 steals, 2 blocks). Delaney Nwachukwu ’20 had her first double double of the season with 12 points (10 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block) and Callie Godfrey ’20 had 12 points (6 rebounds, 1 assist, 5 steals, 1 block).
Also chipping in was Julia Teti ’19 (6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist), Sarah Zukowski ’19 (4 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 steal), Natalie Brennan ’20 (2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist), D’Vine Straughter ’21 (5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal), Grace Bergin ’19 (6 rebounds, 2 steals) and McKenna Cutler ’19 (2 rebounds).
Porters played great team basketball and dominated the boards pulling down 54 rebounds (26 offensive, 28 defensive). The team shot 36% from the field and played one their best defensive games of the season forcing 23 turnovers.
