Cami Beath '17 carried on her form from last season and made it 3-0 after picking the ball up from deep and then Kosienski got her second assist of the game when she picked out Kayla Gallagher '20, making the score 4-0 at the half. Varsity Soccer vs. Cheshire Academy: W 6-0
Recap: Porter's varsity team hosted Cheshire Academy in its second game of the season. The opposition worked hard and was motivated to impose themselves early on, however in the 16th minute Cami Beath '17 scored her second of the season with an impressive finish from 20 yards. With Cheshire pushing for a goal it left them vulnerable to the counter attack and from defending a corner Kyla Gallagher '20 ran from the halfway line past two defenders to finish and make the score 2-0. As the half continued, Cheshire's back four became tired and a little disconnected and after a few dangerous diagonal passes Gallagher won a free kick on the edge of the area and Emily Wogelius '17 struck a good free kick that was followed up by Olivia Grommers '18 for her first goal of the season. A fourth was added before half time after a good pass from Bryn Matthews '18 released Gallagher, who linked up with Laura Gouvin '20. Gouvin finished first time into the bottom corner. Cheshire Academy had three goal scoring opportunities but was unable to punish the girls in green, who scored a fifth through Carlyn Kosienski '18. Kosienski created another goal as she got in behind the opponent's back four, beat the keeper, and gave Beath a tap in to complete the scoring for the day. A second shutout for Naya Lipkens '18 and Jenna Hall '20 and another performance where every player saw the field.

Varsity Volleyball vs. Northfield Mt. Hermon: L 1-3
Recap: Struggling with consistency and situational awareness, Porter's struggles to find rhythm. Porter's showed signs of the team it will become, but was dogged by a significant error rate that hampered its competitiveness on the day. NMH left the match with a total of 95 points scored, but 64 of those 95 points (more than 2/3s) were actually scored by Porter's unforced errors. Offensive errors were the most common, although net violations, missed serves, and poor ball control were all contributors to the total. The increased error rate also forced Porter's to get more conservative with our serving (usually a big contributor to our scoring margin). Without an effective offense and our hard serving, Porter's was left with few options and lost the match 3-1.
