Aggressive 'Contractors' Trying To Scam Glastonbury Residents: Cops
Glastonbury police are warning residents about a home improvement scam.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Glastonbury police Monday were warning residents about an aggressive home improvement scam.
Several departments in New England, including Glastonbury, are investigating home repair imposters who use similar tactics, police said. The scammers are being described as "white males with thick Irish, British or Australian accents," who are targeting target elderly home owners, police said.
The scammers approach potential victims outside their homes or come to the door of a home and alert the residents to a "problem" with a roof or chimney. They present business cards for non-existent companies and coerce victims into signing a contract on the spot, police said.
