Arrest Made After Carjacking In Glastonbury

A Hartford teen has been charged after a carjacking incident in Glastonbury, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A Hartford teen has been charged after a carjacking incident in Glastonbury, police said.

The incident took place on Thursday on Spring Street near Cooper Drive, police said.

The "victim" in the case had advertised a vehicle for sale on the website "OfferUp" and was contacted by a potential buyer who wanted to take it for a test drive, police said. During the test drive, the potential buyer pulled out a gun and forced the owner out of the car, police said.

The car was located in West Hartford on Friday, police said.

Glastonbury police arrested 18-year-old Dajour L. Hines of Hartford in the case and charged him with carjacking, first-degree robbery, third-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny, first-degree threatening, and first-degree reckless endangerment.

As of Friday afternoon, Hines was being held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Monday, police said.
