Audi Stolen From Garage By Teen: Glastonbury Police

Here are the top stories today in Glastonbury:

Burglary, larceny arrest announced by police

The Glastonbury Police Department's Auto Theft Team arrested an 18-year-old Hartford man in connection of a burglary of a residential garage on Hopewell Road in which a 2013 Audi sedan was stolen just after 1 a.m. on July 26, police announced.

The teen is accused of burglarizing another vehicle in the driveway of the victim's home, and then using a garage door opener in that vehicle to access the garage and steal the Audi, police said. The
arrestee was 17-years-old at the time of the crime, and he was arrested as a juvenile (by warrant) and was transported to the juvenile detention in Hartford, police said. Due to his juvenile status in this case, his name will not be released in accordance with Connecticut law, police said.

The now 18-year-old is charged with first-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, and second-degree criminal trover.


Glastonbury Honors Teacher Of The Year

"Dr. Nash has served as the Glastonbury High School Choral Director for the past 14 years. He has instilled both confidence and a passion for beautiful music in countless students over the years. Dr. Ethan Nash was also recently selected as a CT State Teacher of the Year Semifinalist! Five out of Glastonbury Public Schools' last seven Teachers of the Year have become CT State Semifinalists. One was also selected as a Finalist."


What's open, what's closed in Glastonbury

Glastonbury Town Facilities will be CLOSED on Monday, October 11 in observance of the Columbus Day holiday. This includes Town Hall, Academy, WTML, the RCC, Y&FS, the Bulky Waste Facility, and the Transfer Station. Town facilities will resume their standard operating hours on Tuesday, October 12.
