Independence Day Fun at The Lodge
The Lodge at Cold Spring was treated to a fire show by Eric Girardi and a music performance from Tom Stankus in celebration of the 4th of July.
The Lodge at Cold Spring turned up the heat in anticipation Independence Day this past Sunday with a blazing performance from Eric Girardi. Eric dazzled residents with his fire juggling and fire breathing performances. He lit three juggling pins and tossed them around like they were simply juggling balls. He didn’t just toss them through the air; he was tossing them through his leg and even spun around to catch a few of them blind. Apparently all of that juggling made Eric a little hungry, as he did some fire eating for the next part of his performance. He stuck a burning stick in his mouth, and let out a flaming exhale. To cap it all off, Eric lit off some fireworks at the end of the show.
To add to the festivities, musician Tom Stankus stopped by on Wednesday, the 4th of July, to spread patriotism by performing famous American songs for residents. Tom played on his acoustic guitar, singing songs such as the anthems for the branches of the US Armed Forces. In addition to the patriotic numbers, he also played some classic waltz songs, which residents really enjoyed. He even shared a few stories from his youth that influenced his life, as well as a few jokes. “My wife says ‘I have a very secure relationship with my husband, because the women who love him are either five or 85,’” he joked, referencing that the demographics he usually plays for are either children or senior citizens. All in all, it was a fun-filled week at The Lodge in celebration of our nation’s independence.
