Chick-fil-A Proposed for Glastonbury Development

The chicken chain will occupy a prime spot on Main Street, according to the plans.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A Chick-fil-A will anchor a commercial development at the former Pond House Grille at 2941 Main St., according to a story in the Hartford Courant.

According to the plans, the Chick-fil-A would occupy the front part of the 4-acre parcel along Main Street in a 4,865-square-foot building, according to the story.

Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, Inc. is a family owned and privately held restaurant company founded in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy. The chain is known for its original chicken sandwiches.

The chain has more than 2,100 restaurants in 46 states and Washington, D.C. Two are in Hartford County — Enfield and West Hartford.

Chick-fil-A's sales reached nearly $8 billion in 2016, marking 49 consecutive years of sales growth, according to the company's profile.
