- By a unanimous vote the Town Council approved spending $195,000 to purchase the 1.18-acre Goodale-Ramaker Post #56 property. There is a requirement that the American Legion continue to use the front room as their museum, where they hold monthly meetings, for the first three years after closing. After which, it will continue on a year-to-year basis subject to Town Council action.
- The Town Council voted unanimously to purchase 10 plus acres of lane on Welles Street for $1.75 million. Officials said the land has been farmed for many years. They discovered some
areas where the residential pesticide exposure requirement is slightly elevated, according to council meeting minutes. However, it is not widespread, and the Town can manage it, officials said. The other component of this acquisition is the parking license for the area that exists to the rear of the church. It will be a public parking space with a few exceptions, such as Easter and Sunday mornings. The Town and Church will share 50-50 maintenance of the parking lot. The land has been owned by Saints Isidore and Maria Parish Corporation.
