Eversource To Trim $400,000 Worth Of Trees In Glastonbury
Eversource To Trim Trees In Glastonbury in 2020.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Eversource Energy is planning to send a team of arborists to Glastonbury for extensive tree trimming to start 2020. The work, about $400,000 worth, aims to trim branches along about 80 miles of overhead electric lines, Eversource officials said.
"While we all love our trees, they can have a devastating effect on the electric system, especially during a storm," Eversource Manager of Vegetation Management in Connecticut Alan Carey said. "We’re always working to serve our customers better and consistent tree trimming helps to improve day-to-day reliability during all types of weather. As a result, we continue to see fewer power outages where this work has been done."
Tree work in Glastonbury is scheduled to begin the first week of January and is being done by Asplundh Tree Expert Co. Work is expected to be complete by early May, utility officials said.
