Former Glastonbury Dentist Is Accused of Stalking Judge

The suspect remains in custody, unable to post bond following his Dec. 26 arrest.

A former Glastonbury dentist remains in custody, unable to post $75,000 bond after his arrest on charges he stalked the state Superior Court judge who sentenced him in a larceny and conspiracy scheme nearly a decade ago.

Mark Stuart, 57, of Glastonbury, was arrested Dec. 26 after Judge Curtissa Cofield called Glastonbury Police to report she was fearful when Stuart went to her house, identified himself as a friend of hers, and asked if she were at home, according to The Courant. Cofield reportedly told Stuart she wasn’t home and summoned police, reporting she thought he may have been there to retaliate against her for sentencing him to prison for his role in a scheme to sell expensive stolen cars in 2006.

Stuart reportedly told police he didn’t mean any harm to Cofield. Quoting a police report, The Courant, reported that Stuart said “they occasionally saw each other at the grocery store. They ‘waved to each other [at the market] so he did not think she would mind him visiting her home.’”
