Glastonbury To Aquire 2 Parcels Of Land: Here Are The Terms

Here are the top stories today in Glastonbury:

1. The Glastonbury Town Council is voting tonight on purchasing a 10-acre parcel owned by Saints Isidore and Maria Parish Corp. located off Welles Street along with a license agreement for a shared use of the current and proposed parking areas at the church.

The proposal has already been approved by the town Plan and Zoning Commission and Board of Finance. The land will become public parking. The purchase price is $1.75 million.


2. The Town Council is also voting to purchase a 1.18-acre parcel along with a 5,000-square-foot building at 1361 Main St., which is the American Legion site. The land is next to the town-owned Earle Park. The cost will be $195,000. The American Legion will be able to use the building for monthly meetings for three years, according to meeting minutes. The building will require some upgrades.
