GLASTONBURY, CT — Glastonbury Center is one of the Top 10 places to live in Connecticut, according to the online portal Niche.

Niche.com is designed to connect students to schools and communities. It released the 2023 Best Places to Live in America rankings Monday. It is the ninth consecutive year that Niche has produced the rankings.

Niche creates the annual Best Places to Live rankings by using data from sources such as the U.S. Census, FBI, Bureau of Labor Statistics and CDC combined with millions of resident reviews. The company considers factors such as affordability, the local housing market, neighborhood diversity, area public schools, walkability and more.

Glastonbury Center was ranked eighth in Connecticut on the Niche list.

"Living in Glastonbury Center offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents own their homes," Niche said. "In Glastonbury Center there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many retirees live in Glastonbury Center and residents tend to lean liberal. The public schools in Glastonbury Center are highly rated."

Niche gave the schools an A-plus and housing (citing a $307,600 median home price and median rent of $1,521 per month) a B grade. Family value received an A-plus, nightlife a B and diversity a grade of B-plus. Crime was just about non-existent, according to the rankings.

Glastonbury proper was ranked No. 23 with the same grades.
