Glastonbury Council Approves Purchase Of Land At Rose's Berry Farm
The vote was taken Tuesday.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The Glastonbury Town Council Tuesday voted to approve the purchase of 23.18 acres of land on the Rose's Berry Farm property.
The price is $1.09 million. A purchase-and-sale agreement will now be up for approval at the council's Oct. 25 meeting.
The vote was 8-1 with Republican council member Whit Osgood being the lone dissenter. Osgood thought the price was high for what he considers to be a farmland preservation acquisition, minutes show.

The land sits on Matson Hill Road. The right of first refusal for the purchase was granted to the town in 2018 when it acquired development rights to nearly 52 acres there. BHO Enterprises LLC had purchased the rights to continue orchard operations there, according t0 the meeting agenda notes.
The town does have a land acquisition line item in place, which will fund the purchase.
