• Glastonbury Affordable Housing Trust Fund Approved For State Tax Credit Program (patch.com) — Glastonbury's Affordable Housing Trust Fund has been cleared to receive up to $150,000 through Connecticut's 2026 Neighborhood Assistance Act Tax Credit Program, directly tying local business support to housing needs. Eligible companies can earn a 60 percent state tax credit by pledging contributions this fall, and the town is urging Glastonbury businesses to take advantage of the opportunity.
   

• Connecticut farmers can apply for disaster relief funds from USDA (wtnh.com) — Farmers in Glastonbury and across Connecticut can now apply for a share of nearly $53 million in USDA-funded disaster relief to cover 2023–24 weather losses. Applications are open through Oct. 7, and payments may cover up to 95% of eligible crop, infrastructure, or future economic losses, with local farmers in South Glastonbury already planning to file.
   

• Carol A. Parker (wiscassetnewspaper.com) — Glastonbury-raised educator and writer Carol Ann Parker, known for her spirited personality and creative work as a teacher, musician, and author, has died at 77. She grew up in Glastonbury before teaching in several New England communities, publishing children's books and a novel, and is remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose burial will be private.
