Glastonbury Council Mulling Purchase Of Berry Farm Land
The town of Glastonbury could purchase acreage that sits on Matson Hill Road.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The town council Tuesday will consider setting in motion a plan to purchase 23.18 acres of land on the Rose's Berry Farm property.
The land sits on Matson Hill Road and the price tag is $1.09 million, according to the packet for Tuesday's meeting.
The right of first refusal for the purchase was granted to the town in 2018 when it acquired development rights to nearly 52 acres there. BHO Enterprises LLC had purchased the rights to continue orchard operations there, according t0 the meeting agenda notes.

If the plan is adopted by the council, a purchase-and-sale agreement will be up for approval at the council's Oct. 25 meeting, according to the meeting notes.
The town does have a land acquisition line item in place.

Tuesday's meeting is slated for 7 p.m. at town hall with a remote option.
