Married to Dr Parveen Khanna( Cardiologist) and have three daughters Dr Raveena Khanna,( Dermatology Resident in DC) Dr Rayva Khanna( Dermatology Resident in DC) and Ramona Khanna( medical student at Georgetown Medical in DC. Son In law Dr Adam Jacob( GI Fellow in DC) married to Dr Rayva Khanna.

Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

I wish to represent the citizens of Glastonbury by offering a combination of legal expertise, compassion, and respect for fiscal responsibility which better represents the Glastonbury I moved into 14 years ago. This includes prioritizing the towns historic character, our farmlands and historic buildings. I wish to balance the budgets without raising taxes on Glastonbury residents, work with law enforcement to lower crime and stop the excessive over construction in our town.

Increased Taxes. I intend to look at the budgets and curb the spending to make Glastonbury affordable to its residents.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I bring the skills with my MBA and law degree and my ability to work with people on both sides to make the council a cohesive team so we can work together on the issues facing our town. Tax increase, crime and over construction are the main areas of focus for most residents.

If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?

They are not focusing on the spending in the budget and have allowed the town to be over developed without understanding how this effect our schools and roads. losing our open lands to housing projects is not the direction the residents want. The rural character of our town is being replaced by the new over built town which will over burden the schools and roads. It will lower property values as what makes Glastonbury desirable is its history and farmlands.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I have a background in business with an MBA and have run small business as a Medical Administrator and now as an owner of a Law firm. I have the skills that I have developed by serving on several Boards including the Board of Directors of the Business School of UNIV of Hartford. I have delt with budgets and know how to work with people and understand regulations and laws due to my background in Law. I am a Rotarian and have served on many community service organizations and have been honored with several awards for my work. As a immigrant I know the value of hard work and a mother of three doctors I know how to multi task and prioritize issues to get things done.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Perseverance Passion and Persistence are the Key to success.

I am a hardworking and honest person who loves this town and will work with integrity and respect for all if elected. I wish to represent all residents if elected.
