Glastonbury Firefighters Win Contest, Get New Tools

GLASTONBURY, CT — A resident with a connection and a timely contest wound up providing Glastonbury firefighters with what officials called "some pretty cool battery-operated equipment."

The tool kit was courtesy of Stanley Black & Decker and Glastonbury resident Bill Campana. The iconic company staged a contest for First Responders Day and Campana, a Stanley employee, nominated the Glastonbury Fire Department.

The local department wound up winning a cut-off saw, a chain saw, a grinding wheel and blower, as well as an assortment of hand tools.

"Thank you again Bill and the Stanley Black & Decker team for recognizing our first responders," department officials said.
