Glastonbury’s Community Fund was established in 2019 by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and is overseen by the Glastonbury Community Fund Advisory Committee, made up of Glastonbury residents. The Fund’s purpose is to support residents in taking ownership of the needs in their towns, encourage broad and inclusive civic engagement, and anchor the Hartford Foundation in Glastonbury.
This second round of need-inspired grants to local nonprofits will address issues in Glastonbury ranging from solving basic human needs (food or shelter), health, human services, disability or mental health services, senior services, education, recreation, land conservation, and the environment. In its inaugural round of grants, the Glastonbury Greater Together Community Fund awarded $27,200 to six organizations; grants awarded ranged from $500 to $15,000.
