Glastonbury Incident With Pot Smoke, Infant Lands 3 With Charges

A Glastonbury incident with pot smoke and an infant in a car led to charges against three people, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Three people are facing criminal charges after police discovered a car in Glastonbury with both an infant and a cloud of marijuana smoke inside, a report indicates.

At 9:40 p.m. on Feb. 24, Glastonbury police received a call about adults smoking marijuana in a black Acura that also had an infant in it, according to a report. Officers located the vehicle on Hebron Avenue near Western Boulevard, according to a report.

Police said they determined that the front-seat passenger, 21-year-old Hartford resident Angel Martinez, had smoked pot in the vehicle with the child present. He was charged with risk of injury to a child for that and with the use of drug paraphernalia, operating a drug factory and possessing less than a half-ounce of cannabis after marijuna, packaging materials and other related items were located in the car, according to a report.

Officers also determined the child's father, Raymond Martinez, 24, also of Hartford, did nothing to stop the smoking and charged him with risk of injury to a child, according to a report.

The child's mother, Francheska Gonzalez, 27, of East Hartford, a backseat passenger, was charged with interfering with police, according to a report.

All three are due in court on March 13, police said. Their respective bonds were $25,000 and $10,000 and a promise to appear, records show.
