Glastonbury Man Facing A Felony Assault Charge, DUI For October Crash

A Glastonbury man is facing several charges in connection with a crash that left a car smashed into a home and two people hurt.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A Glastonbury resident is facing a felony charge in connection with a car crashing into a local home in the fall.

Om Tuesday, Glastonbury Police arrested 53-year-old Alberto Serrano on a warrant charging him with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle and driving under the influence in connection with a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Oct. in the area of 203 Wassuc Road.

Serrano and his passenger were both injured in the crash, police said. He was also charged with reckless driving and failure to drive upon right, records show.

Serrano posted a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Feb. 20.

According to a police report, at 11:58 p.m. on Oct. 27 the vehicle was traveling east on Wassuc Road and failed to negotiate a left-hand curve while approaching the intersection of Country Club Road.

The vehicle then left the south side of the road and struck a stone wall in the yard of a home and then rolled several times before coming to a rest on its passenger side against the home, according to a police report. Serrano and and a passenger were extricated by firefighters and transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The residence was not affected structurally by the crash.
