Glastonbury Police Free Skunk From Cup

The skunk incident took place last week.

GLASTONBURY, CT — It took all the police skill of a local officer to avoid a tense standoff with a potentially dangerous suspect last week.

It was on Aug. 28 when Officer Ken Lee was in the area of the Riverfront Community Center and was advised of a possible rabid skunk, police said.

When Lee arrived at the scene, he discovered the skunk was acting weird because it had a cup stuck on its face.

Police said there was no animal officer on control on duty, so it was Lee's case to take, police said.

Lee, with the assistance of Officer Dan Klafter, Dispatcher Sarah Chaffee and a snare pole, was able to free the cup from the skunk's face, police said.
