Since 2022, the Town has been working with FHI Studio to develop Design Guidelines for the Town Center Village District. Required by the TCVD regulations, the Guidelines will ultimately regulate future development in the Town Center area – the area that encompasses Main St., Hebron Ave., New London Turnpike and numerous roadways. Furthermore, the Architectural and Site Design Review Committee (ASDRC) will refer to the Guidelines as part of its review and decision-making process for future development proposals.
FHI will present the draft Guidelines to the Town Council and Town Plan & Zoning Commission during the Town Council meeting on August 1, 2023.
To gather additional comments from community members, the town has launched a web-based feedback form, which will accept submissions through September 8, 2023. (See link below.) All comments received through this final community engagement phase will be reviewed by the Steering Committee and incorporated into the final draft as deemed appropriate.

The final draft will be presented at a public workshop to be held in late September, (date to be announced) with formal adoption by the Town Council slated to occur this October. Citizen feedback is valued and appreciated as the Town works to finalize this important planning resource.
