Residents are also advised that the annual Memorial Day Parade has been CANCELLED this year due to the pandemic. On Memorial Day morning, 5/25, the Veteran Service Commission of Glastonbury will hold a private ceremony at the monuments on the green with a small group of Commissioners. During this time, they will place wreaths, say a prayer, and perform Taps for the Veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives during the various wars. They will then visit the graves of Sgt. David Coullard and Sgt. Steven DeLuzio to place wreaths there as well.

For the health and safety of the group, community members who may be in the area during the ceremony should please adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear masks/face coverings when maintaining a 6 foot distance from others is not feasible. The Commission hopes to resume the standard parade proceedings next year, 2021, as public health conditions permit.
